Newton County School District Kindergarten Registration

2025 – 2026 School Year 

         Newton County Elementary faculty and staff are preparing for our 2025-2026 kindergarten class.  

         To register a child for kindergarten, parents and guardians must provide:

1. Three (3) current proofs of residency in Newton County School District (the same address must appear on all documents)

  • The first of the three proofs must be a-

Filed homestead exemption application form or homestead print out from tax assessor/chancery clerk or mortgage document or property deed (including the Section, Township, and Range)

Two of the following documents must have the same address appearing on both documents-

  • Apartment or home lease
  • Utility bill (electric, gas, water, satellite or landline telephone)
  • Driver’s license
  • Voter precinct identification
  • Automobile registration
  • Affidavit of residency

2. Child’s certified birth certificate (child must be 5 years of age on or before September 1, 2025)

3. Child’s social security card

4. MS immunization form 121
